Privacy Policy

Mellott.US is a private, family-operated personal cloud. It is not an advertising business: we do not sell your personal information, and we do not embed third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs. Data you store is held on infrastructure we operate ourselves and is used only to provide the features you request.

We process only what the features you use require:

• Account information — the name and email associated with your sign-in, used to authenticate you and secure your account.
• Content you create — notes, recipes, files, calendar events, photos, and similar items you choose to store in the service.
• Location — only when you grant permission, to show weather for your current location or a place you select.
• Contacts — only when you grant permission and only to let you pick a friend or family member's saved address as a weather location. Contacts are read on-device for that purpose and are not uploaded in bulk.
• Photos — only when you enable photo backup, to upload the photos you select to your own storage.
• Diagnostic logs — minimal, PII-redacted operational logs used to keep the service running and secure.

Traffic between the apps and our API is end-to-end encrypted (X25519 key exchange with AES-256-GCM) in addition to HTTPS/TLS. Access requires authentication, and administrative access uses multi-factor authentication. Backups are encrypted at rest.

We do not sell or rent your personal information. Data is not shared with third parties except the minimal infrastructure providers needed to operate the service (for example, DNS and email delivery), and only as required to provide it.

If you provide a mobile number for text messages, it is used only to deliver the messages you asked for — sign-in verification codes and account or service alerts. Mobile numbers and SMS consent are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and they are not shared with any other party except the messaging carrier required to deliver the message to your handset.

Message frequency varies and is driven by your own activity — typically a few messages per month, plus one code each time you sign in with SMS two-factor authentication enabled. Your content is retained until you delete it or ask us to delete your account. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, contact us and we will act on your request.

Mellott.US is a private family service and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
